  2. Take a blender add onion,ginger and garlic and blend to make a paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds to crackle now add onion and ginger garlic paste and saute for 4 – 5 mins..
  4. Add,garam masala powder,r,coriander powder,red chilli powder,turmeric powder and 2 tbsp water and mix well.
  5. Saute until oil leaves the pan now add boiled black gram along with water and mix well..
  6. Add salt and cook for five mins.
  7. For tempering add asafoetida,,black mustard seeds curry leaves and whole red chilli to crackle..
  8. Add in the cooked black gram.
  9. Serve hot..
